I’ve decided to start a new blog for poetry.  If interested, please visit – http://pankajpoetry.blogspot.com

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree :
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea
……………………
……..
But oh ! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover !
A savage place ! as holy and enchanted
As e’er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover !

Latafaat be kasaafat jalwah paida kar nahin sakti
Chaman zangar hai aina e bade bahari ka

Mirza Ghalib, courtesy Hargyalji

Tough poem and translation postponed:
zangar:presumably from zang meaning rust here connotes the reddish coat on the back of a mirror: bad e bahar=breeze of spring:chaman=garden

Ah, so I’m not the only one who’s starting new blogs haha :)

Best of luck with poetry – I will probably be most in awe, simply because this is one thing I can never, ever write.
